Diabetes Wellness Network

What’s it all about?

Its purpose is to bring people with diabetes closer through the sharing of knowledge and experience, as well as providing important health advice.

Whether you have recently been diagnosed, are having trouble controlling your blood glucose levels, or simply want to be in contact with others living with diabetes, DRWF is here to help you.

Our support is not meant to be a substitute for the professional medical advice you receive from your diabetes team but we hope that it will improve your understanding of your condition and give you practical day-to-day tips you find useful.

Diabetes and its associated complications are very serious conditions and only your healthcare providers can prescribe the treatment that is most appropriate for you.  You should always consult your physician or Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) before changing any element of your diabetes management.

The Network

Diabetes Wellness News

The Diabetes Wellness News is the newsletter of the Diabetes Wellness Network. Sent each month to members of the Network and diabetes, and related health, professionals across the country, the newsletter contains news of recent advancements in treatment, personal stories, and practical advice on all aspects of life with diabetes. The aim is to help improve understanding of diabetes and its associated complications and to provide the tools to enable good self-management through a supportive, like-minded community.

We welcome contributions from professionals in diabetes and related healthcare and people living with diabetes. The Diabetes Wellness News regularly includes articles that focus on less well-recognized aspects of diabetes management, such as the psychological side of living with diabetes and the benefits of exercise forms.

It is very important to us to ensure that the information we provide is as relevant, usable, and accessible as possible to our beneficiaries and encourage the submission of articles and participation in the lay review process of the publication, to this end.

Diabetes Wellness News will also keep you abreast of the latest research advancements from around the world, relevant national developments and pharmaceutical industry, and our own programs, campaigns, and events. We want people with diabetes to be well-informed and aware of the latest thinking and treatments, as well as conscious of the tireless research work that continues around the world.

Health professionals working in the field of diabetes can receive a complimentary emailed copy of the Diabetes Wellness News each month and should contact our office 1-866-293-3155 or email us to be added to the list.

Quarterly Pocket Diary

Members of the Network receive the digital copy of the Diabetes Wellness News, quarterly good health pocket diaries (for a limited time), and free access to the Diabetes Helpline (for non-urgent medical questions).  We hope that through these services, we can provide the inspiration and encouragement, as well as the practical advice, necessary to help people manage their diabetes effectively.
